Nell La Belle

Ellen Nora Warner 27.5.1922 - 9.5.2009

She had sparkle she had style
with an ever ready smile,
and energy with bias toward fun,
she loved to dance she loved to sing,
she had rhythm she had zing,
she was a character, I have to say, our mum.

She was a caring, giving friend,
she was strong until the end,
with a spirit that kept us up to par,
she was a blue print for our life,
loved her role as mum and wife,
and the joy of being cherished as Grandma.

So, who can tell the worth
of the one who gave us birth -
who went without to ensure we did okay?
only the One who made her so,
and to God our thanks will flow
for blessing us in such a special way.

I wondered if you might leave a tribute to your mum here! And it portrays her well. Our love to you though with the loss of a special person.

Man, I thought you were talking about my mum.
Your mum was a very special lady, always had time when she visited to talk.

Your mum was lovely and your poem says it all. A mum in a million who left great memories. Julie
